Kenworth K100C Club

A group founded for owners and enthusiasts of the classic round headlight Kenworth K100C Aerodyne and K100C flat top cabover semi-trucks. This club was founded to support and highlight the restoration and preservation of original trucks, not highly modified or customized show trucks.

The aim of this group is to:

- Create a database of original factory brochures & information
- Follow the progress of members restoration projects
- Provide a truck and parts wanted/for sale section
- Showcase K100C truck photographs
- Share information
- Arrange club events for members to meet and display their Kenworth K100C trucks

To help you navigate around the site, if you click on the icons within the 'This way to everything K100....' box below, or select the 'Photos' option listed above this note you will see the summary of albums to view. Here you will find:

The Kenworth K100 Brochure & Literature Collection - This contains a comprehensive collection of factory sales literature from 1964 to 1984

The Kenworth K100 Magazine Features, Roadtests and Advertisements - This contains K100C-related articles published throughout the years. Of particular interest are the original road test articles.

The Kenworth K100 Paint Schemes and Colour Code Manual - This contains factory drawings of paint schemes that were offered as standard, colour descriptions, paint codes and sample colour chips.

The Shop Manual - Here you can find wiring, air line diagrams and other technical information for the K100 series trucks.

To view the full-sized and high resolution photo album images, select the 'Slideshow' option and skip back, forward, play or pause as required.

Next, you will find albums created by Kenworth K100 Club members of their own trucks. These vary from unrestored originals, trucks currently undergoing restoration, from working trucks to show trucks. From flat tops to Aerodynes, there's something for everyone. If you do own a round headlight K100C, you are invited to create an album and share your story and pictures here on the site.

Further down you will find albums containing period photographs of our favorite cabover.
Under the 'Blog' option, you will find the 'K100 Trucks And Parts Wanted/For Sale Section' and the 'Technical Q &A' sections.

Items are added regularly to the albums so check back often to see the new postings. All in all, this site offers a wealth of information for the enthusiast, owner and especially as a historical & restoration reference source.

You don't have to be a K100 owner to join - just share the passion for the most fabulous cabover semi-truck produced !

Anybody know where this truck is today ?

I was told in another forum that the pictures of it changed back to a "plain white shorter truck" may be on here. I had them but lost them in a computer crash. If anybody has any pictures, both before and after, I'd be grateful to you if you could send them to me. This is the post I put on the other forum which led me here.

Hi to all,

There used to be a forum on Ning that was devoted to nothing but the KW aerodyne cabover of times past. I posed this question on there and a person with the handle of "Condor" sent me a reply with pictures of before and after where the truck was shortened, the big box taken off, painted solid white. I LOST THOSE PICTURES with a computer crash and would sure love to get them back. "Condor" if you're on here, please contact me and if possible resend those pictures, I have a buddy of mine that's crazy about these particular trucks and I was going to send those pictures to him. If anybody else happens to have those pictures I'd be much ablidged. Here'...

Try to use pictures of a reasonable quality and be sure to include your name, location, how long you have owned the truck, specifications, any known vehicle history or good stories !

If you have a technical question or anything for sale/wanted, please use the allocated 'Technical Questions & Answers' or 'K100 Truck And Parts Wanted/For Sale' sections located under the 'Blog' category.

Here's how to create a photo album for your project:

On the main group page, there's four names on the top right of the screen called 'Shop' 'Post' 'Invite' and 'Search'. Select 'Post' and you'll get a choice to add photos to either your personal Multiply site or the group.
1984 Kenworth cabover

I bought this truck about a year and half ago, I came across it working here in the Shenandoah Valley, it had been sitting on a farm for awhile but, had been on the road for a long time before the owner passed away. I have always liked these cabover trucks and especially Kenworth. I knew it was gonna need some work but was excited about restoring it with my 9 year old son

My '78 K-100

Below are pics of my 1978 Kenworth. I purchased it in 2003 from a scrap yard who was days away from cutting it up. It's a factory single axle on KW air ride. Truck was built with a 6V-92TT Detroit. At a later point, it was exchanged for a 6V-92T "Silver Series" Detroit. Other specs include: 9 spd direct Eaton, 3:70 rear, dual alum. 110 gallon tanks, in-dash A/C.... Don't know too much about the truck's history. According to the build sheets, it was ordered as dealer stock for Novi, Michigan KW. It was lettered for "FTI, Brunswick, OH" when I bought it out of the scrap yard in Medina, Ohio. Haven't been able to find any info on "FTI." Through the paint chips it appears to have worn United Van Lines colors, as well as some version of the Salem paint scheme. Future plans include some old KW paint scheme. I'd like to work the truck locally, so I'll be looking for a tandem axle cut-off to stretch it out a bit. I'll continue to post pictures as I get more work

These are some pictures of my truck. I bought it in January 2008 from someone in Saginaw, Tx. I keep it at my brother's repair shop in Fort Worth, Tx, and work on it when I can. It has a 3406A with a galded piston and a 13 speed Transmission. I am slowly restoring it. I intend to shorten the frame to the original 180" wheelbase, and I already have a new, correct, front bumper and stacks for it. I am currently having the floors replaced, for there are hinge problems. I will add photos when I have time to get work done to it.
The first photos are as it was when I bought it, and the last are the most recent.
The pictures may seem redundant, but there are subtle changes, with something added or removed, in each set of photos.

Just an update for those who have followed this truck. Did some work on the rear end to solve a water intrusion problem, and now it's winter here in the northeast. Was going to try and get some runs in before the weather turned bad, but the Pennsylvania winter has come early so the chances have diminished. Busy with primary income and family things, so look for more in the spring time. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my fellow K100 Club
