Thank you Paul, this site is awesome. Hahaha, it never ceases to amaze me, when you want to research something about anything...there's a website for it all and this is nice. If it weren't for the internet, us guys up in the mountains and back country would still be sending up smoke signals! LOL. I have an '81 Freightliner COE also, that's actually in excellent condition and was on the road working up until July 2011. I am headed to a small local show with that one Sunday, May 6th as a matter of fact. The Aerodyne will hopefully get to shows next season, as I need to find some items for it first, like tires, aluminum Budds, etc. so it will take a while but delayed gratification is my specialty.
Thanks for the great site and all the important information offered here. Looking forward to being part of it all.

Just joined in, nice site. 3 weeks ago, just purchased an '81 K100C Aerodyne and have plans to bring it back to life. Interior's green splendor kit, very nice with original floor-to-ceiling curtains!
3406A @380HP, 15 OD, Peterbilt Airleaf with 3:55's, 204" WB. Lot of work to do, but that's what it's all about. TommyZ1.

Hello, I'm interested if anyone has any extra cab shirt those (silver/gray rubber) they fit on the bottom of the cab. I contacted the original seller (Paul Cox) but he doesn't have anymore. If anyone purchased extra sets from Paul Cox I would like to hear from you. He listed them for sale on the site about two years ago. If anyone can help please contact me jimschraeder@hotmail.com Respectfully, Jim

Hello all, Just purchased a 67 Cabover from California. Updated with a 400 Cummins Magnum. Installed in 1988. Any information about these rebuilds is appreciated.
Anything I should watch for with this vintage of cab? Thanks and great to see this site. Will post pictures soon.

Hi all,
Regarding requests for literature, Ebay is the way to go, even the 'How Kenworth Builds a COE' brochures which were super rare before Ebay now appear quite regularly.
Another good source is Walter Miller, his operation is called autolit.com and available on-line directly and of course though our friend Ebay again.

Many of you are looking for shop manuals. There isn't really a generic manual that was offered by Kenworth, each chassis when delivered came with a custom shop manual that was 50% Kenworth drawings (circuit and air line diagrams, a/c & heater details, frame details, basic cab information - how to change glass etc).
The remaining 50% was filled with non-KW generated material - manufacturers own information of their respective items used on the truck - Eaton, Rockwell etc. Engine details were never included, just a single page with the company addresses for Detroit, Cummins & Cat for you to get your own engine manual set.

Every once and a while a shop manual will appear on Ebay, remember it will be specific to a particular serial number though much of the information is generic.

I have a shop manual from the mid 80's and have many of the pages available in 'The Shop Manual' section of this site. I wll be adding many more pages in the very near future.

Hope this helps.
Paul.

Hi andersensr68, you've got yourself a round headlight K100 C model, the E model started in 1985 with square headlights and several design changes (headlight sections, windshield is wider and more angled, cable shift trans, squared off corners on roof cap etc etc).
Paul.

I recall someone was recently asking where to find original heatshield brackets....this just appeared on Ebay, and he has several more being auctioned. I've got a load of things from this guy over the years, very trustworthy and has good stuff.

I have a 1978 K100 pretty much ALL original, I still drive it as a toy hauler but would like to find someone who'd like to fix er' up. What are these K100's valued at ? It has the big cam 350 and 10 sp trans. It spent most of its life hauling grain to the elevator and currently has 122,600 original miles. It fires up and drives beautifully.

Just Posted - Let's start the new year with some technical additions to The Shop Manual section......Steering column panel circuit breaker layout.
Should be useful - details breaker amperage, circuit and wire numbers. There will be some differences in physical location between some trucks though tracing via wire colour & number should get you out of trouble.
