Okay, I'll start things off by saying I'm looking for a decent center headliner for a 86" sleeper K100. Either the moulded foam or the Cyclolac version is fine as long as it's in really good shape. Also looking for a chrome Fuller 13 speed shift knob.

Cheers,
David

Hi all, I have tons, and tons of parts new, and used for the Aerodyne cabover. These parts will fit 1977 to 1984 trucks, parts for the inside, and outside. Many of these parts cannot be found anywhere. You name it, I pretty much have it.

Hey John,
Yeah, I'm usually all over ebay but haven't seen any actual chrome Fuller knobs yet. Which one did you get? I have a knob suitable for a non-RTO tranny, but I need the more commonly found one with 1st gear in the far left bottom & Reverse far left top slot and three range postions (one is a splitter)

I've been looking at your pics and it looks like you found a really nice Aerodyne there. I look forward to seeing more photos soon!

cheers,
david

Hey again John,
Forget what I just said...I just found an NOS knob to match my transmission and shift pattern...probably from the same guy you just picked on up from. Thanks for the tip! Isn't it nice to put all of our heads together?

Hey all, I know of some Kenworth K100's that may be for sale, these are cabs only. I'm not sure of price but will find out if anyone is interested. There is one 86"cab and (2) 108" VIT. I will add photos of these trucks, remember these are cabs only though the pics show otherwise.
deguitars wrote on Dec 9, '08
Hey MK,
Have you seen these cabs, do you know if by chance the center headliner is good in the 86" cab? If you have interior roof shots please post them along with the location and contact info.

John, I was very pleased to find that shift knob so thanks again for the heads up on the ebay listings!

cheers,
david
milwaukeek wrote on Dec 10, '08
Hey David, Yes I have seen these cabs, I will go to the place today or tommorow and check for the center headliner and let you know, I'll get the contact info as well, plus the other K100 VIT pic which I haven't posted yet. Stay Tuned.

Anyone have a supplier for the ribbed rubber floor mat material found in the non-carpeted trucks?

I'm also in need of a couple complete ash tray assemblies and original radio speaker grills if anyone has these?

Thanks,
David
k100aerodyne wrote on Dec 31, '08, edited on Dec 31, '08
Hi David, I used the ribbed flooring rubber material for my locker boxes that I got from Home Depot. It is located in flooring, and is actually a runner. It worked perfect for the locker box. There may be other choices from an automotive outlet though.

As for the ashtray assemblies, and the speaker grills, I might be able to help you there, I will have to do some digging.

Hey John,
I did get in contact with Dan but haven't spoken yet with him in person. He seems like a real character! Thanks again for the contact.

Thanks also for the catalog tip. The wide rib stiff looks like it might work so I'll see if they will send me a sample. Do you already have it on hand? I'm glad to hear you're going with the original type material in your restoration too.

David,
I haven't got it yet...probably this spring. Sad part is...I have a good factory mat that came with the replacement cab we bought, but the stick hole doesn't line up with either stick on our 4x4. The factory mats didn't fit that well...anyway.

No problem. I requested samples from restoration specialties and should have them next week. I'll let you know what they look like. Too bad on the one you have not lining up though!

I spoke with dan the other night and he was very helpful, thanks again for that contact.

By the way, if you have any shots of the W900 you're restoring please send them to my personal email, I'd love to see the progress. I have a soft spot for the 900As anyway!

I need a couple of new, or good used Grakon 1000 cab marker lights for my K125. I have 3 good ones, but need 2 more, and can't find anything but LED's that I'd rather not use. Thanks, Tony Weston.
kenworthk100 wrote on Jan 20, '09, edited on Jan 20, '09
Hello Tony,
Welcome to the club.
Regarding the marker lamps, call Felix at Inland Kenworth in Los Angeles (the old JT Jenkins dealer) on (323) 278 4100 - he has 2 Grakon 1000s sitting on the shelf with real lamps.
The Grakons are still available to order but not for much longer. Get what you can while you can !
Remember the newer ones will potentially have screw mounting lenses and not twist style although the overall lens shape is identical.
Happy shopping,
Paul

Hi guys, been away for a while, but I have a bunch of parts that I am ready to unload. Some of the big ticket items are two old style VIT air ride seats that are fully restored, and in new condition. Also have a brand new in the box Aerodyne refrigerator with the power cords, also have the slide tray that it mounts on which is used but in excellent condition, can supply pictures.

Also have a new doghouse for a 1977 to 1984 Kenworth cabover. It is the length for a 108" inch cab, but could be cut down for an 86" cab.

I have tons of misc. stuff mostly for the Aerodyne like interior stuff for the Aerodyne, but have stuff that will fit in any of the C model cabovers.

Paul, and David can vouch for me, I have sold parts to both of them. Please free to e-mail me with your needs on parts. Thanks, Naseer

While looking for some W-900 parts I need, I have by coincidence located a BRAND-NEW ENTIRE K-100 CAB (I think it's a 1970 or '71...have the details at my office...I'm at home right now), complete with internals. It's located in CA. The plastic is still on the bunk mattress and seats have never been sat in, etc. The outside is still in factory primer waiting for paint. I'm told it apparently was ordered as wreck replacement and never used. Sat in a warehouse for many years. I have printed photos sent snail mail to me by the owner. If interested, contact me for the details.

Hi im looking for door sweeps rubber that cleans glass when window goes up and down for my 1979 k100. the ones in my truck are shot if any info please email me at polarbear2971@comcast.net thanks!
I just replaced my door sweeps. They are all standard for kenworth doors whether K100 or W900, T800, T600 etc. I think they'd be the same for the 1970's models as well. They come as a strip, and you cut them to fit your door. Get them at any Kenworth dealer. Problem is now, the parts guys camn only search parts by VIN #, so find a T800 or W900 with regular doors, and get the VIN#. The dealer will match that and get you the sweeps.

I know that all the KW doors from the 80's until now were the same except for T2000, and the new daylight doors. Actually the daylight doors themselves will fit a K100 as the frames are the same, they actually look very cool on a cabover if any of you are doing a custom truck.

Plastic Skirt ? If you mean the fibreglass lower side fairings I have both sets (Driver and Pass Side) from the steer axle to drives. They are the factory black and 3 sections each. The front panels have a slight recessed area (from factory) to allow for the ladder and the rear panel has the built in steps to get up onto your frame. From factory they are bolted to an angle iron rail that runs along and bolted to the fuel tanks and the frame.

I'm near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada just north of Seattle, Washington

The truck came with twin stacks and twin breathers that go to two canisters which seems to be kind of rare. I was told the truck came with a V12 Det. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions as I dive into the old girl but for sure looking forward to it.

Thanks for any help.

kenworthk100 wrote on Nov 22, '10
Hello Joni,
The fuses/circuit breakers are located on the panel that attached to the dash on the right side of the steering wheel - undo the 2 large phillips screws and the panel will fall forward and downward to reveal the goodies. There are also a couple of relays, flasher unit etc located within the right side dash housing - if you undo and hinge up the top right hand dash panel you'll see them mounted vertically against what is the left side of the glove box opening.
Good luck.
Paul.

A couple other things i need are of course the blue parking brake knob, the r/s storage compartment in the sleeper, i also would like to find a clear pic of a bunk curtain from late 60's early 70's w/ the white diamonds..i know it may not be original but it should be period correct? keep an eye on my multiply page for pics and video....thanks and great site

Just getting back to "tinkering" with what I call the "Baby HEMTT". She was built by TACOM (U.S.Army) as a prototype for the production 10 ton Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks. As it was only intended to be a test bed for ideas for the new direction of the heavy trucks, the Army used a Kenworth K100 cab for it (circa 1975). I'm trying to get it as close as I can to its original state without getting insane. Finally the point - I am going to be in need of at least two (2) but I would not be against finding a complete set of five (5) cab roof marker/clearance lights either good take offs or NOS. The two in question had been removed for installation of a couple of flood lamps at the outside corners (thank goodness they didn't just hack in holes in the roof!). I will also be searching for a pair of original style air horns. The originals are still there but are showing their 35 years of dings and tree branches! There will no doubt be other stuff along the way, but these are the most obvious place to start. Thanks a lot for any help you can offer. Dave

I have a set of original gears and parts that will easily convert a Fuller RTO-9513 overdrive to a RTOO-9513 (double-overdrive) if anyone needs them. They are nearly new (takeouts).
Also looking for two...or at least one... original KW (approximately 1969 thru 1973 era) low-back bucket & trapeze-type air seats (cyclolac/fiberglass). Cushion condition not important. Can email me at: oceanjockey@sbcglobal.net

Hi All, I'm looking for a cab jack for a '76 Aerodyne. Anyone have any ideas where I might find one or if parts are available to rebuild it?
Thanks,
Scott
kenworthk100 wrote on May 13, '11
Hi Scott,
No problem, the tilt pumps are still available manufactured by Power Packer. The Power Packer part number is AU15404-18 and this is for the air assist version, I don't have the part number for the non-air assist version to hand....though it is nice to just press a button and the cab pumps up nice and gradual.
This is available through KW dealers (KW part number is K188-208) still though cheaper elsewhere, just search for a Power Packer distributor in your area. I do recall that the air assist pump was cheaper than the non-air assist for some odd reason and I recall it was cheaper than I thought it would be too.
The pump is still used by Paccar on all those little Peterbilt trash trucks that run around every city.
You can search for seals etc and rebuild your own, but there is so much depending on the tilt pump, cylinders and lines, I would strongly recommend fresh new items if you can do it - most extensive cab damage is done when something in this system fails and the cab comes screaming down hard.....I know, mine needed new floors, tunnel, rear and side skins because of such a failure.
Sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead of you......
Paul.

Hi 92sar,

The roof vent fan is made by Ventline, most RV parts places have them for $60-80....like this one:
http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-vents/van-air-powered-roof-vent.htm

...only difference over the years is that the top cover is black instead of our Aerodyne-friendly white....nothing that a quick sand and recoat with a good plastic
spray paint won't fix....or wrap it in silver duct tape like they did for the famous BJ & Bear photo in the quarry.....

J.C. Whitney used to carry them but I don't see them on their site anymore...at least they are useful for this:

Happy shopping....

I have a lovely original heatshield from 1976 - it is the 9" diameter not the later 10". It is chrome plated steel in perfect condition. It has the rolled over edges that nothing after market has. If you have a single stack earlier K or W this is a great original part. It comes with a muffler (only 300 miles on it - 5" in & out), frame support U bracket etc and the original heatshield to support brackets.

I still drive it as a toy hauler but would like to find someone who'd like to fix er' up. What are these K100's valued at ? It has the big cam 350 and 10 sp trans. It spent most of its life hauling grain to the elevator and currently has 122,600 original miles. It fires up and drives beautifully. It would take very little work to get this truck back to a show room look.

Hi tjk911 & rokwiz,
I did make a run of reproduction grey cab skirts though sorry to say the last available pair just sold.
Paul.
kenworthk100 wrote on Feb 18
k100kw,
The low air buzzer is located behind the right side dash, behind the heater control panel. Unscrew the right side hinged cover with the cigarette lighter and you'll should see 4 metal square/rectangular looking things....down there to the right side. You have a relay for the city electric horn, a relay for the clearance lights, the flasher unit (2 wires) for the indicators and lastly the low air buzzer - it has 2 wires and looks like a relay.
Presuming your low air light works, chances are the buzzer has failed -you can unplug the buzzer and shove 12 volts straight across it to check it. If the low air dash light is out as well as the buzzer I'd check the circuit breaker located behind the right side steering column panel - breaker #19 normally lower left side with two green wires on it - '18H' from ignition and '18' to the dash harness.

The '18' wire feeds two pressure switches screwed into the top of the two air distribution manifolds located under the dash just to the left of where you found all those relays and things I mentioned.

These two pressure switches are wired in parallel so low air pressure on either or both front & rear will kick on the dash light and buzzer. To save yourself some time digging around the breaker panel you can unplug the '18' green wire on each of the pressure switches, turn the ignition on and check you have 12 volts on them both with a test light or multimeter between the wire ends and a good ground point. If you do then the breaker is good, if not get into the breaker panel and change that breaker out (it's a 10 amp).

If you have 12 volts there you can disconnect the other wire off of each pressure switch and with a little jumper wire, link the hot 12 v feeds directly to the other wire, this should light the light or make the buzzer sound. If this jumping across works then one (doubtful both) of the pressure switches is bad. If not then it's it's back to the buzzer.

Hope this helps,

Paul.
