Hey MK, Great -thanks for reorganizing the images. Perfect. Over time, as more existing and hopefully new members put up their own truck restoration/owner folders the number of albums will increase so it's nice to keep everything orderly from the outset so we don't have a clerical nightmare to sort out ! Mr. Sagehorn will be with us shortly so maybe take his replica pictures out of the general K100 folder as a matter of courtesy to avoid multiple postings. I was thinking maybe move your cabs for sale entry into the For Sale/Wanted area (called 'blog' under the Multiply title) - if you add to the For Sale section using the 'Post' feature instead of reply, you can upload images as part of the message. Hope all is well and that new scanner is seeing some serious use ! Thanks again Dave. Paul.
Still a fabulous truck after all these years. I never get tired of looking at it. There is still nothing on the road to match it. Keep up the good work the site is great.
Hey Paul, Lookin forward to seeing Paul Sagehorn over here. I removed the two photos of his replica truck from the general K100 album, as for the 3 K100 cabs for sale.. I will re-post after I get more info, the guy who owns them is hard to catch at home. I went through all my pics from my collection from magazines, books, etc.. I counted over 300 and I haven't found them all yet.. I'm hoping to get some of these pics up by the end of the week..(no promises though) Take Care.
I remember watching BJ and the bear on tv every week, dreaming of driving a Kenworth Aerodyne. Many years later and many different makes of trucks still too this day i have never driven one. I am glad too see this site as i am a COE man. I am looking forward too seeing more and reading more about the K100. I started restoring a 1978 freightliner COE day cab with the help of my son and littlest daughter. I found a 1981 COE kenworth sitting in weeds about 5 years ago and to this day cannot find out what happened to the owner of the truck- but i have been too motor vehicle and checked the last time it was registered it was 1984. The speedometer only shows 173,401 miles. It has a Cummings with a 12513 in it. Hopefully one day i will locate the owner are a relative and be able too acquire the truck.
Hi tinyshaker, Thanks for joining the group - welcome. You've come to the right place being a COE guy. Hopefully you can get that local K100 you found but keep checking in with the trucks/parts for sale area....your dream truck may appear......it is Christmas afterall ! Paul.
milwaukeek wrote on Mar 14, '09, edited on Mar 14, '09 Hi guys, I found these last 3 photos at myspace, so I'm only going to leave them up for a little while, vintage pictures of the BJ and the Bear Kenworth at truck shows, I know nothing else about these pics or who is in them, but check them out..good times! - MK
| Hey MK, Nice photos and thanks for adding them! The first and third shots look like they could be the same truck but the second shot truck is from a different season judging by the paint scheme differences. It's always good to see period photos of these BJ trucks.
Cheers, David |
Hello MK, These are great photos - thanks for finding and sharing them with us. Best regards, Paul.
I'm glad to see someone found and used one of my pictures. This was taken 2 month before I bought my 1981 Aerodyne. The dealer who had this truck on display also had my truck in his yard.
Hi Hank, I'm glad you're okay with leaving your pic up. A great pic and a bit of history too! Thanks.
May 11th the Bandit run taking place- starts in Joplin Missouri- for info - WWW.THEBANDITRUN.COM and WWW.SMOKEYandtheBanditModels.com hope you can attend !!!

turn signals on the mirrors, ill bet my nuts it has a right hand peeper window and brown buttons on the vit trim.this is the gm powered stunt truck.the truck with the 13 speed.please someone, prove me wrong.
Paul sagehorn & his dad has the original that used in the t.v show as i was told by paul via his facebook page 3 were used in the tv series but no one know's where the 2 are at paul's dad is using their's in truck show's but if you could find 1 one not all stretched out you could customize it to look like this original and with enough clearcoat to keep the paint from fading in the sunlight too.. I would recomend to store something like this in a huge garage built by general steel corp.along with your personal car's, tires coke vending machine and tire changer, fork lift, and everything that a service station garage has.
hell guys, well blow me down, here's the new's.the serial# for the highwayman's truck matches the serial # for a truck purchased by universal studio's in 1979.the truck was the b.j& the bear stunt unit(ive spoken of this truck before, turn signals on the mirrors,r/h peeper window,8v92,rto9513tranny,brown button interior).the truck was so knocked around in the end, larson got it cheap and had it converted into what it is in the highwayman.call me a liar?say im wrong?ive got the line sheet for the truck plus universal's service records plus personal recollections by mr larson himself.i remember certain members of a fanclub condeming me because all the trucks had cummins power and 15 speed tranny's.series 3 intro, uuum, thats not a 15 speed knob, sorry to all the truck experts out there.now ive got that off my chesthope all is well in the k100 ckub.thanks.
I see the sign says Michigan Kenworth. Anyone know what year and the location the truck was at?
I have the original Bj and the bear plastic model still in the original box by amc 1978 I love it. All still in plastic seal. I want so bad to put it together but can't make myself open it. Lol.
