This way to everything K100...... | |
 | Nicely done Paul! Now where did I leave those wire strippers...
cheers, David |
| Thanks David, I figured no time like the present. As a general note, even though the first set of drawings are dated 1979, the circuit wire numbers, colors and functions remained consistent through the years. The wiring circuit designation listing is very useful if the number (located close to the terminated end) has long gone or smoked beyond recognition, the color coding chart will get you where you need to go. .........so now there's no excuse why everything doesn't work on your trucks members ! Paul.

| In answer to a few requests for dimensional details of a factory K100 shifter plate foam seal, here it is.
KW part #K207-455. A simple part that gets torn up relatively quickly with the air-ride cabs. KW want $60 for a piece of foam that is on the list for being discontinued, so off to the foam shop and sharpen your bread knife, make a couple while you're at it, keep one on the shelf. Even though it is just a simple foam piece, it is nice to have the original dimensions and an image to reference.
The seal is a 1 3/4" thick, 19" long, 7" wide medium density foam section with slightly rounded corners. It has a skin on the top surface and is adhesive on the underside . The hole for the stick seal is 5 1/4" diameter and inset 1 1/4" inches from the front edge. If you have that raised control assembly behind the shifter for your shut down, idle up pulls or other features, cut to accommodate.
2" thick foam will work fine and will be easier to find too. Don't worry if your replacement foam piece doesn't have the adhesive underside, I would suggest a few thin lines of silicon sealant to hold it in place - it will make cleaning up easier when the time comes to replace it again rather than spray adhesive.
Slice and dice away ! - Paul. |
 | Hi Paul, Perfect job! With an added bonus of air piping, just what I needed. Now I'll fill the printer with ink and get to work. Thanks, Greg |
 | trying to get a shop manual for year`s,great job thank`s for posting Paul. |
| Thanks everyone, This section is getting a huge amount of visitors, I guess we've all got that unknown wire hanging behind the dash that we just won't sleep at night until we find out what it is. Well, not me, because I don't have a dash in mine at the moment....come to think of it, no roof, tunnel or doors either. Guess I better get back in the workshop. Paul. |
 | This is perfect. I've got a few guages that aren't working. |
 | thank`s Paul for adding capture tank, you would think they would fit them from new, great sounding engine but the drip`s are annoying ,cheer`s john. |
 | No more problem nicely done, Thank's Bobeb. |
| Hello Duke, That's what we want to hear - the hiss of air brakes means success ! Paul. |
 | Ihave a 1972 kenworth k100c Iwas wondering if anybody had a manual on how to rewire this oldie I bought the truck for 500$ still with the original 335 cummins and 13 speed tranny. |
 | i am really glad to have found this website i really love all the nice kws on here you guys have some awesome trucks.i hope to have some pics of mine on here soon.right now i am trying to find parts. a lot of these trucks already been scrapped around here its sad. |
 | I have a 1972 k100c and its got a few wires taken out of the dash i was wondering if someone could help me with this problem. or if anybodys got a wiring diagram manual that i could buy to wire back up this oldie. please e-mail me danielfulton11@comcast.net thanks |
| Hi skag03, I don't have any specific '72 KW wiring diagrams but generally the wiring code remained constant throughout the years - they just added things as required. The 'Shop Manual Wiring Key' listings above should tell you all you need to know. Every wire has a number printed on it near the connector - if the connector is burnt or has been replaced, the colour of wire can noted and found in the same wiring key documents. Hope this helps. Paul. |
 | Great Site. I've just purchased a 1977 K124 so all this information is invaluable. However I tried to print the Shop Manual drawings and found the resolution too low to be able to read the numerous notes on the drawings? Have I goofed up somehow? |
| Hello nzk124, Congratulations on your K124 and thanks for your kid words about the site. Regarding the printing of drawings, I'll print one out to check - these drawings were added a while ago and the site now has a better upload system...I may have to re-load these drawings with the higher resolution. I plan on doing some site maintenance this weekend. Thanks, Paul. |
 | Paul, Would it be possible to get the 28 page wiring and air manual emailed since the quality is low if printed off do to size????? I have a 79 and it was be great to have a readable copy of this manual.
Wade |
 | Could I get this e-mailed to me I cant read them when I save them, they are to blurry. jerrod@crousecustomizing.com |
| Hi everyone, I have uploaded revised copies of all the wiring diagrams using the highest resolution the site will allow. The originals are not that defined and therefore there may still be some grey areas...if I can get better originals I will replace them. To print these I would recommend clicking on a diagram, then select 'Slideshow' drag this image onto your desktop and it will transfer as a .jpg file for you to print. Hope this helps. Paul. |
 | Thank You very much Paul it worked awsome..... |
 | Hi Paul, and everyone, Just bought my K125 and love this website. Thanks so much for all the uploaded shop manual pages..... brilliant. Thanks again Geoff |
 | tryin to gt the wiring for 83 k100 stereo, if any one can help it would b great, or email me a copy to jtippett@live.com |
| Hi everyone, oliver8498 - Happy it worked for you. Geoff - Welcome and glad these pages are helpful to you. jtippett - There's a diagram here for the radio ('79 K100 Radio Wiring #8.jpg), the wiring didn't change really so don't worry about the 1979-specific drawings, they'll work for most years of the C-series. Paul.

| Just posted - Steering column circuit breaker layouts. Should be useful - details breaker amperage, circuit and wire numbers. There will be some differences in physical location between some trucks though tracing via wire colour & number should get you out of trouble. Paul. |
 | Hi, Paul Was wondering how i can upload KW torsion bar suspension information for this site. I think it would be very helpful for other guys to use. Geoff |
| Hi Geoff, With Multiply only the creator of an album can upload to it. I would be happy to add it to the Shop Manual section. Please email me at pjc56@earthlink.net with any good quality scans and I'll upload them. Thanks, much appreciated. Paul. |
| Just Posted - Twin Exhaust Piping Parts List - I've had a few messages from members asking what exhaust components I used for fabricating my system...here's a breakdown of the parts I used, all Dynaflex part numbers and there's a fair amount of slicing, dicing & welding though well worth the hard work. |
 | Anyone looking fr a k100 gt ahold of me, got am 83 k100 |
 | I need to see how to install a cab jack on a 81 k100 day cab. All I have are hoses on the ground. I don't know the location of the jack. Thanks |
 | I should add that the truck is about 500 miles from home. The ultimate goal is to bring it home. I need to obtain a jack and learn how to install it before I make the trip to get the truck. Thanks |
